IS WAYNE BRADY GONNA HAVE TO CHOKE A BITCH?
Chapelle's Show is one of the best comedies this century. The Wayne Brady episode is not only the funniest episode of the entire series, but the this clip of Dave and Wayne's night out is, without a doubt, one of the best sketches ever.
I challenge anyone to come up with something funnier.
Ignore the fact that this clip is backwards, it's still funny as hell.

10,000 MANIACS
SNOOZEFEST
It's been way too long since my last report on (CR)Apple iPhone failures, so without further delay, here goes.
Users in Asia and Europe have been reporting that their wake-up alarms have not been going off since the new year, a problem that some have claimed has gone on for three days, now. Many have been turning to their Facebook and Twitter accounts to grumble about missed flights and being tardy to work.
iPhone users experienced similar problems last fall, when their phones failed to recognize the end of daylight savings time. Users of the new version released last summer also reported antenna issues, which (CR)Apple initially tried to blame on users, saying they were holding the phone incorrectly.
Ok, so let's break this down. If the alarm didn't work on the first day, that can be forgiven. However, if on day three, you're still dependant on a product that has proven on several occasions to be unreliable, then you deserve to miss that flight or be fired from work.
WELCOME BACK, KOTTER
Jerry's inauguration is today and I'm quite happy about it. He sure does have a lot of heavy lifting to do, though.

IS TIPPI HEDREN IN TOWN?
I came across one of those strange but true stories this morning about a town in Arkansas, where instead of rain, more than 1000 dead Blackbirds fell from the sky.
I WANT MY BEN STILLER SHOW
In a move to boost sagging ratings, MTV began in the early 90's to expand into more traditional programming, and in most cases, with terrific results. Their stable of unknown stars almost reads like a who's who of comedy today.
They had shows like The State (with Tom Lennon, Kerry Kenny and Robert Ben Garant of Reno 911), Singled Out (Jenny McCarthy), Remote Control (Colin Quinn), The Jon Stewart Show and You Wrote It, You Watch It (Jon Stewart). These were all really good shows, but my favourite was The Ben Stiller Show.
The Ben Stiller Show was cast with Ben, along with Janeane Garafalo, Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show), and Andy Dick (along with writer and fellow producer Judd Apatow). The show was good enough to be moved to Fox, who then dropped the ball and cancelled the series after only a couple of months. I was surprised that in a world full of Facts Of Life reunion specials, America's Next Top Model, and Law and Order marathons, that Stiller's show never seemed to be found anywhere on the hundreds of cable and satellite channels.
That is until now.
IFC, in it's attempt to expand it's programming with an increasing amount of smart comedies (Portlandia, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, Comedy Death Ray, Onion News Network, among others), is going to start rerunning this classic (20 years ago, that counts as a classic to me) on January 5th.
Check it out. This show was awesome.
DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO
Officials yesterday kicked off the registration period for the 100th annual Bay to Breakers race, set to take place on May 15th. The event has been marred over the last several years by douchey frat-style drinking, public urination, and littering. 18 tons of trash were hauled away after last years race.
Organizers hosted yesterdays event with a few selected runners from local running clubs, in hopes of setting the tone for a more civilized AND sober event this year.
So, to celebrate this more civilized and sober event, they popped open a few bottles of champagne.
Oh, that is rich.

WARM IN YOUR COAT
The movie is Reckless, with Darryl Hannah and Aidan Quinn. The song, Warm In Your Coat, by San Francisco band Romeo Void. I loved this film when it came out back in 1983, but I haven't seen it since then. The song is my all-time favourite and I expect it to be played at my funeral.
It is the perfect marriage of song and film.
PICTURE THIS
It was so damn cold yesterday (45 degrees) but I really lucked out with some nice shots taken during my final hike of 2010.
With Wagner on the headphones, I walked along one of my favourite bay area trails, the Bobcat Trail, which runs through Rodeo Valley in the Marin Headlands.
Great way to spend the final morning of 2010.
