I'm not sure how this show was given the green-light, but the new ABC shitcom Workin' It really asks a lot of its audience. If you're not familiar with the show, here is the premise: two guys are unable to find gainful employment, so they decide to dress up in drag as a way to secure a job.
Hijinx, however, do NOT ensue.
Are viewers really expected to believe that the secondary characters who interact with the two lead characters, are so stupid that they cannot see these are two guys in drag?
Anyway, it is the use of ethic humor that I find bothersome, in particular, a line that was delivered on last weeks episode. It turns out the actor who delivers the line, Amaury Nolasco, is Puerto Rican.
How Disappointing.
Mr. Nolasco really should have balled up and maybe used his position as an actor on the show to have had that line rewritten. Why, you ask? Well, it's shit like this makes it easier for people to joke around like this and think it's okay because, after all, it was on TV.

Calls for an apology from the network seem to have been ignored, although the New York City affiliate WABC managed to come up with one.
I am very upset that this show is wasting Amaury Nolasco, one of our nation's hottest natural resources.
