This is something I posted last week about the Occupy Oakland situation, and how protestors need to take into consideration how their actions may be affecting local business in a part of town that has been struggling to come back for years, now.
Someone at SFGATE must have read my post, because this morning's front page story is about how local businesses in downtown Oakland are really taking it on the chin. Fingers are being pointed towards protestors and their encampment.
Several questions are posed in the article, with the best one coming at the the end, which asks:
"Why aren't the protesters in San Ramon, where Chevron just announced a
near-record profit of $7.83 billion?"
Good question.
