After watching the Russ Meyers classic Beyond The Valley of the Dolls for the first time, I sat there for a second and said out loud "Wow. What the hell was that?"
I immediately rewound the film (because this was back in the days of VHS), watched it again, and it was love at second site.
Roger, I know you won the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism back in 1975 (the first film critic to do so), and you co-hosted movie review shows for several years on television, but for me, it's all about your one and only screenplay, a true masterpiece.
So long, Roger, you did good.
Reel good.
