PUNT OR PLAY

I'm not sure how much of a football town Los Angeles is, considering they lost both the Rams and the Raiders.

So in spite of its history with the popular sport, the city council unanimously voted yesterday to endorse a tentative framework agreement with a private developer that wants to build a 72,000-seat downtown NFL stadium, near the city's convention center.

There is a rival development under consideration, as well. Warehouse magnate Ed Roski’s Majestic Realty Co. has permits in place to build a separate 75,000-seat stadium about 15 miles east of Los Angeles, in the city of Industry.

Both projects seem to be operating under the idea of "if you build it, they will come," as neither location has secured an NFL team.
