Directly across the Harlem River from Yankee Stadium was the home of the New York Giants, who's home stadium was the Polo Grounds. The horseshoe-shaped stadium was replaced with the Polo Grounds Houses (project housing) when the team followed the Brooklyn Dodgers move to (Los Angeles) California back in 1958.
I have decided on the San Francisco Giants as my new team. I love the Yankees, but they don't get much coverage on the west coast, and I want to follow a team that has more accessibility. Plus their stadium is downtown, so it'll be easy to drop in and see a game or two.
I'll still check in with the Yankees, though, and will NEVER carry a "Fear the Beard" sign.
