BLOOD ON HER HANDS

I wonder how well Sarah Palin slept last night, because her angry and venomous rhetoric now has a body count.

U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot yesterday, along with 17 others, outside a Safeway in Tuscon, Arizona. Six of those shot have died and the congresswoman is fighting for her life, as she was shot in the head.

A lot has been said about the shooter, how he may have been influenced by the extremist tone of the Tea Baggers, and maybe even the "Target 20" list that was, until yesterday, maintained on Palin's website and Facebook page.

"For example, we're on Sarah Palin's targeted list, but the thing is, the way she has it depicted, has the crosshairs of a gun over our district. When people do that, they have to realize that there are consequences to that action," said Giffords earlier this year, during an interview with MSNBC.

No shit!

During Giffords reelection campaign, her Republican opponent, Jesse Kelly, urged supporters at fundraisers to help remove Giffords from office by joining him to shoot a fully-loaded M-16.

Wow, how disturbing is that?

It's one thing to fire up your supporters during a campaign. However, there is a fine line between creating excitement and feeding displaced rage. You just can't say stuff like that and then act surprised when it inspires someone to do what was done yesterday.

So, how did you sleep last night, Ms. Palin?
