SILENCE IS NOT GOLDEN

Is Sarah Palin to blame for what happened in Tucson?

No, not really. The shooter is quite deranged. However, her hands aren't clean. It's not like she told her supporters to "go out and eliminate the opposition," but she has played a HUGE part in creating a climate of hatred and fear with her rhetoric.

Palin had a golden opportunity that she has decided to completely ignore. Instead of going out and showing herself as the leader she wants to be, by speaking out against the violence and maybe even owning up to the possible role her, her party (and for that matter, her employer, Fox News) may have played in the fostering of this atmosphere, she has chosen to remain silent, and that silence is deafening.

Personal opinion, of course, but Palin has not proven to be worthy of the office she seeks to hold. Maybe she should just remain silent, let her Fox News contract run out, and go back to the frozen tundra from where she came
