THE FINAL NAIL

I'm not sure if Ms. Palin suffers from Tourette Syndrome or is just plain stupid. Instead of saying something like "we ALL need to take a step back and tone our rhetoric down and get back to the business of running this country with less anger and hatred," she had this to say in an 8-minute video rant posted to her Facebook page:

" . . . But, especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible . . . "

"There are those who claim political rhetoric is to blame for the despicable act of this deranged, apparently apolitical criminal . . . and they claim political debate has somehow gotten more heated just recently. But when was it less heated? Back in those 'calm days' when political figures literally settled their differences with dueling pistols?"

Wow, she really doesn't get it, does she? For those not in the know, the term Blood Libel is generally used to mean the false accusation that Jews murder Christian children to use their blood in religious rituals, in particular the baking of matzos for passover. Ms. Palin’s use of the phrase in her video, is attracting criticism, not least, because Ms. Giffords is Jewish.

Goodbye, Sarah. Let's not say we'll keep in touch.
