WELCOME TO SAN FRANCISCO, NOW GO HOME

When I first moved back from New York City a few years ago, I noticed that this sign was in the front of every business I walked by (and a few homes as well). They are called "Requests for Enforcement of Municipal Police Code Section 25," and they state that "no person shall willfully remain upon any private property or business after being notified to leave by owner, leasee or other person in charge."

Really?

San Francisco felt the need to create something like this? I can't think of anything more unwelcoming than seeing this hanging in a window.
