If there is one positive thing I can say about Republicans, it would be that they are fiercely loyal to their candidates. So much so, that they will blindly back a candidate or elected official no matter what they say.
Liberals could take a hint or two from the conservative handbook because in spite of the accomplishments of the Obama administration (and there have been a lot), many are bemoaning about having to re-elect President Obama because, in their whiny opinion, he just hasn't done enough.
We live in a fast-food society where it seems instant gratification just takes too damn long. Our economy, which is in a slow recovery, is still pretty black and blue and the last time it was this bad (the depression of the 1930's), it took roughly ten years to get it back on its feet. This time, we're about two and a half years into it and people are shaking their fists in the air and screaming about it taking so long to be fixed.
SFGATE columnist, yoga instructor, and local heartthrob Mark Morford breaks it down brilliantly in a piece he's written called The Great Barack Obama Conundrum.
Just for the record, I fully support the re-election of President Barack Obama.
Let's face it, politically, nothing surprises me anymore, and nothing scares me more than the possibility that I may wake up on a Wednesday morning in November of next year to the headline MICHELE BACHMANN, FIRST WOMAN ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
I violently shudder at the mere thought.
you. are. awesome.
