I wonder how the American people are going to feel about the Republicans if the government really does shutdown, as the GOP seems to want?

I wonder how it's going to look when our troops stop getting paid because of the government shutdown? I mean, let's face it, Republicans have already shown that in spite of their hawkish (and hollow) chest-beating claims about supporting the troops, they don't support them at all. Sending them into Iraq and Afghanistan poorly armed and then cutting the Veterans Administration budget by hundreds of millions of dollars has already proven that.

I wonder if they care about the loss of dignity and credibility as a government?
