HOMO YOU DON'T

Oh. what I wouldn't give to be at the White House today. The President and house leaders are meeting to discuss the debt limit and our huge deficit, and I have a great idea on how to save the federal government a few bucks. In fact, I have several great ideas, and here's my first one.

How about they stop funding bullshit clinics and organizations that claim to cure homosexuality. This mornings edition of The Minnesota Independent has a front page story about the so-called "health clinic" that is run by Marcus Bachmann, the husband of front runner for the GOP nomination, Michelle Bachmann.

Two witnesses said over the weekend that the clinic founded by the First Family of the Teabaggers (yeah, I just made that up) performs a controversial “ex-gay” therapy. A former client of the clinic claims that he was counseled to become straight when he was in high school. The Bachmann’s clinic has accepted hundreds of thousands in state and federal money ($167,000 so far). She is also an investor in a farm that receives federal farm subsidies.

According the to American Psychiatric Association "homosexuality per se is not a diagnosable mental disorder. Recent publicized efforts to repathologize homosexuality by claiming that it can be cured are often guided not by rigorous scientific or psychiatric research, but sometimes by religious and political forces opposed to full civil rights for gay men and lesbians. APA recommends that the APA respond quickly and appropriately as a scientific organization when claims that homosexuality is a curable illness are made by political or religious groups."

I wonder if this is what their "literature" says:

Step 1: Contact a ministry that specializes in curing homosexuality
Step 2: Pray really hard
Step 3: Follow what the Pastor/ Priest/Rabbi says to the letter of the law
Step 4: Shoot yourself in the head

So this is the best you could come up with, Minnesota?
