NEWSWEAK

Once upon a time, there was a magazine called Newsweek, and it was considered one of the two (the other being Time Magazine) most relevant news magazines in the world.

This week, it jumped the shark.

A feature article written by Tina Brown laments on what life for the late princess may have been like had she not been killed in an auto accident back in 1997. Included are computer-enhanced photos of how she might have looked today, along with other trivial bullshit like a mock-up of her Facebook page and other useless shit.

In a week where the New York state legislature passed gay marriage (and with republican votes, no less), the Taliban attacked the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, and President Obama grew a set and displayed them at a press conference, Newsweek felt this was the most important story (and a cover story, no less) they could come up with?

Maybe it's TIME (pun intended) they just give up the ghost and call it a day. Diana has been dead for nearly 14 years now, and the press is still chasing her around just like they did that late August night in Paris.

How sad and ironic.
