Re: Prescription approvals

To whom it may concern:

You are an insurance company, not a doctor. Who in the hell are you to decide what a doctor can and cannot prescribe to a patient? You've never met me, so I'm not sure how you can sit there in your cubicle and decide "No, we'd like you to try this medication, instead."

Doctors are in the business of trying to make people feel better. You seem to be in the business of making policy holders sicker. A blind person could see that you are more concerned with meeting (or beating) Wall Street analysts expectations and covering the multi-million dollar salaries of your executive staff.

You should be encouraging your policy holders to become healthier AND be more active in their health maintenance. It seems that there would be far fewer health insurance claims filed if we were all healthier.

But then, I suppose that would really screw up your business model, right?

Unsincerely yours,

Scott Crayne

  1. I find it fitting that their slogan is "Decide to be healthy." Because, clearly, you'd better keep yourself healthy as they're not going to help you be so.
