BALK

Yeah, it was a blown call and yeah, it denied Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga the bragging rights of having pitched a perfect game. The umpire who made the bad call, Jim Joyce, concedes it was a bad call. He even gave a tearful apology to Galarraga (by the way, what a pussy, there's no crying in Baseball). But there is a lot of squawking out there that commissioner Bud Selig should reverse the call and I couldn't disagree with this idea more.

Personal opinion, of course, but Baseball officials should have reversed the call during the game, not the day after. You can't un-ring a bell.

The time has come to bring instant replay to Baseball NOW!

  1. yes, they should absolutely reverse the call. it's not just 'bragging rights', it's history. bud selig should overturn the call, give him the out at the point and the perfect game, and institute instant replay immediately. it makes no sense for everyone on earth to know and agree that he was out, but to pretend that he was safe because of human error. just plain silly.

  2. There have been plenty of game-changing bad calls made in the past and we've all gotten over them and moved on. In the interest of good press, however, i think that they will overturn this decision.
