99 LUFTBALLOON

Actually, it was 10,000 luftballoon, but who's counting.

A card announcing the release of a video game from the company THQ was attached to balloons that were released into the air. Unfortunately, because of the cold and rainy weather, those balloons began to descend into the environmentally sensitive San Francisco Bay.

The company quickly announced that the balloons were made from 100% soy-based material and were 100% biodegradable.

Bullshit.

Upon further inspection, they looked and smelled like latex, according to many witnesses, and even if they were biodegradable, that doesn't mean they immediately degrade. It takes a long time for that to happen and it doesn't keep birds and other sea life from trying to ingest and, in many cases, choke to death on them.

I'd like to know where I can fax my resume because I'm looking for work and I've got a feeling there is going to be a job opening or two in the PR department responsible for this ridiculousness.
