I think I know exactly where this is.. far end of the AIDS Mem Grove (past the official "Grove")?
Anyway; remember those Star Trek MOVIES? - esp the one with some "Genesis planet" or some such? When Spock died and they ejected his coffin to the newly-developing planet? (camera slowly tracks thru new lush greenery on the new planet; there's Spock's coffin among the plants): that was filmed right here. Among the ferns in GG Park.
(Also in that movie, a planet (or something) blew up and of course sparks and debris fall toward the camera. That was filmed inside the Cow Palace: fireworks/charge/debris up near the ceiling; camera on the ground looking up. BOOM! + slo-mo cam = planet blowing up.)
good guess. i think the first two are (i took these sometime last year). the third is of some swamp on the trail btwn the conservatory of flowers and the memorial grove.
