Shirley Jones won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress over the heavily favoured to win Janet Leigh (Psycho) for her career redefining performance as a prostitute in the classic Elmer Gantry (seen here with fellow Oscar winner for Best Actor, Burt Lancaster).
In conjunction with the Turner Classic Movies Classic Film Festival, TV's original rock and roll mom will be making a personal appearance at the fabled Castro Theatre, along with TCM host Ben Mankiewicz. The event, which will include a screening of the film, is scheduled for April 20th. Tickets go on sale April 6.
