GOOSE AND GANDER

She's been a very vocal critic of government spending, but it seems what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander.

Is anyone really surprised?

In what has turned into a rather infamous interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News this past Sunday, presidential candidate Michele "Boom-Boom" Bachmann was asked about payments her husbands medical clinic received from the government medicaid program. Her response was that they did receive "one-time training money that came from the federal government. And it certainly didn't help our clinic."

Turns out that Bachmann and Associates, a clinic that provides quality Christian counseling for a large number of mental health problems ranging from anger management to addictions and eating disorders, received $137,000 from the government, along with an additional $24,000 state grant. Also, a family farm that the tea baggin' favourite is an investor in, received $260,000 in federal farming subsidies, a fact recently reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Bachmann, a fierce critic of President Obama's stimulus program, has consistently requested funds for projects in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District, the area she represents.

I'm not sure how political candidates think they can get away with hypocritical stuff like this because they always seem to get found out.
