THE LAST PICTURE SHOW

The marquee and signage as it appears today.

The lobby in its heyday

The foyer

Although I've always lived in the Mission District (both times I've lived in SF), I never did find my way to the New Mission Theatre, and with good reason. It was pretty rundown and not a safe place to see a movie, but I always wondered how it looked inside.

As you can see, it was quite grand back in the day. I doubt very much if it can be saved and restored (the location doesn't seem to allow for it) but click here (scroll down to links and click Save the New Mission) to see how it looks today.
