It was love at first sight.
This 1955 Toastmaster toaster was purchased at a Chelsea flea market in Manhattan back in 1992. It survived a couple of cross-country relocations and occasional bouts of neglect, as I would go through periods without bread in my diet.
Sometime last week, and without warning, it died.
I'm sure I'll manage to pick up the pieces and go on with my life, but it served me very well and it will be fondly remembered.
