No song brings me back to 1988 quicker than this remix of Alexander O'Neal's Criticize. What comes to mind the most when I hear it:

Alexander is the one singer from the era of the Minneapolis Sound that didn't break through into crossover success, which is too bad. His album Hearsay (the album Criticize is on) is an awesome helping of 80's R&B served up at its best.
