PRISON RAPE

There's no other way to put it: I've seen rape scenes on the HBO prison drama OZ less painful-looking than what was served up at ATT Park last night.

San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner gave it up like a virgin on prom night to the visiting Minnesota Twins, allowing eight hits that resulted in eight runs . . .

. . . in the FIRST INNING!

I'll say one thing, Facebook friend and former officemate Ryan must have been happier than a pig in shit. He's a loyal Twins fan who got to see this all play out in person (and in a luxury box, no less). His team has been struggling this season, with a record of 32-39.

The final score was 9-2, Minnesota.

Way to go, Bumgarner.

  3. worst-to-first! worst-to-first! worst-to-first!

In 2003, the Twins sat 7 1/2 games behind the Kansas City Royals in July. They won the division anyway.

In 2006, the Twins trailed the Detroit Tigers by 12 1/2 games at the end of May. They won the division anyway.

In 2009, the Twins trailed the Tigers by three games with four to play. They won the division anyway.

    In 2011, It's happening. Again.

  5. oh sorry if that was misleading, those were just examples of the big comebacks. over the last decade, the Twins have won their division in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, and 2010. :-)
